Love Russia’s model of working in hospitals is through their relationship with the Head Doctors of particular departments. In this way the funding and equipment can be tracked and one person is responsible for its use. Doctors in Russia are among the lowest paid and many have more than one job in order to keep their family. Without fail Love Russia has found doctors who are hardworking and dedicated to their profession and patients honest and trustworthy when the opportunity arises to help their hospital departments.  One doctor in a gynaecological hospital had brought a heart monitor for his patients with money he had saved over many years to buy a new car. We constantly hear of the long hours and sacrifice of doctors and other medical professionals in order to help patients who cannot pay for their help and services. Although Love Russia does not individually fund doctors Love Russia has been able to organise skill sharing opportunities for nurses and doctors to visit Russia and for Russian doctors to visit the UK and work with specialists in this country.
